As a tenured professor at Brigham Young University, Lynn Wilder examines whether doctrine taught as official positions of the LDS Church fall within the purview of biblical Christendom. Many kind and friendly LDS people are sincere in their faith and moral in their behavior and as such may hope to be fully accepted by the body of Christ as Christian due to their behavior. But faith in Jesus Christ as “the one mediator between God and man” (1 Timothy 2:5) is a non-negotiable of Christian belief, without which a church is not a Christian church. As it turns out there is a long list of serious conflicts between what Mormonism teaches and what the Bible teaches, and Dr. Wilder, uses her considerable experience as a Mormon, and as an LDS professor, to shine a light on these beliefs and practices.

Dr. Lynn Wilder was a tenured professor at church-owned Brigham Young University in Utah. She, her husband and children held numerous leadership positions in the LDS church during their 30 years as members, including working in an LDS temple. Their three sons served 2-year Mormon missions.
When their second son challenged his parents to just read the Bible, everything changed. Dr. Wilder encountered the Jesus who calls himself Truth. Unveiling Grace: The Story of How We Found Our Way Out of the Mormon Church (Zondervan, 2013) is her best-selling book. Other books include Leaving Mormonism: Why Four Scholars Changed their Minds (Kregel, November 2017) and 7 Reasons We Left Mormonism: A Quick Doctrinal Guide (ATRI, 2012), as well as a chapter in the book Sharing the Good News with Mormons (Harvest House, 2018).
