A triptych is a work of art, photography, or literature composed of three hinged panels or distinct parts that function as a single thematic piece. Originating in medieval religious art, it uses a three-part structure to tell a story (beginning, middle, end) or explore different sides of a topic, offering a balanced visual or narrative approach.
Similarly, each issue of Triptych is composed of articles in three hinged fields—philosophy, theology, and culture—which together seek to form a single, integrated view of the world as seen through the eyes of thoughtful Christians. Accordingly, the mission of Triptych is threefold:
(i) to exhibit the work the best thinkers
(ii) to equip readers with the best resources
(iii) to engage with the best values: truth, charity, tradition
Publishing Triptych represents a movement by Ratio Christi Press into the academic space, a move that only seems right given the audience and scope of our ministry and mission.
While the content of Triptych is hosted online, we remain firm believers in print medium. A hardcopy of each issue will be available for purchase, which represents our conviction that the digital will not, and cannot, replace the tangible. We ask that you consider purchasing the print version to keep this ministry viable.
